Isn't Halloween fun? With a little creativity, we get to dress up in costume and be whoever we want to be. I focused on dressing up my hair and picked 3 hairstyles that were inspired by celebrity #blackgirlmagic!
Here's what I used:
Check out the styles:
Paying homage to Iman. What more is there to say? Iman is truly a legend and model extraordinaire. For this look, I put my hair in a top knot bun and used 6-7 gold tinsel stems to wrap around it. I pinned a gold clip in the front to finish the look.
I am a lifelong Scary Spice fan. She was super edgy and cool, quite like this double Bantu knot style. After making a middle zig-zag part, the front two portions of my hair went into ponytails and then into Bantu knots. I placed gold elastic hair ties around each knot to style the look. For even better results, do a braid out on the hair left out in the back to produce a curly wave pattern.
Janelle Monae really brings a unique, funky style of her own. I just loved when she rocked the oversized pompadour. To achieve this, I separated my hair into two sections, front and back. Then I tied the back portion into a bun. The hair in the front is placed in a ponytail, tucked under to the front, and bobby pinned to finish the pompadour look.
In summary, I had a great time playing hair dress up to honor these 3 queens! What was your favorite style? Let me know on Facebook. Have a safe and Happy Halloween! Thanks for reading! With love, S
