Yaaassss, it’s resolution time again. I love the idea of setting goals and working to achieve them. Let's make it real and keep some things going for 2018! Here are 6 hair resolutions (countdown style) for us to get inspired by in the new year:
6. Make a hair calendar. I know we can all agree that this year was BUSY! Honestly, it was easy for me to put off my usual hair routine. But it’s so important! Pick up a small calendar just for your hair, and write down certain days - like co-washing happens on this specific day each month or trims on a certain day every two months. And check off the dates that you keep! I think this will be a great addition to the journey. Yess to writing it down, girl!
5. Have fun in your process. Let’s be real, wash day can often be time-consuming. So why not make the process as fun as can be? Create fun activities such as karaoke-ing around your house to your favorite playlist or even invite over some of your girlfriends and make it a hair party! The key is to find ways to be excited for timely tasks such as wash day.
4. Be bold and try something new. Thinking of a new hair change, such as a different color? Try it! The new year is our time to welcome all things new! You could also add a few techniques that you haven’t tried. My good friend told me about the Greenhouse Method as she said it really helps with moisture retention. (Hi, Cheryl!) I’ll be trying it for the first time soon, and I can’t wait!
3. Develop a new daily habit. One year, I put Jamaican Black Castor oil in my hair every other day. It really helped the health and moisture of my hair! For 2018, I want to pick a new daily hair vitamin to try. Do you have any new habits in mind? Let’s do it! I'm excited to revisit this habit/goal in 2019.
2. Try these on wash day. Listen, I have turned into a deep condition fanatic lol. Here are the products I tried this year and LOVED: Proclaim Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo, Live Clean Coconut Milk Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner, and Camille Rose Custard Conditioning Custard. What were some of your favorite products this year?
1. Keep #slaying. Take time to appreciate your progress this year! Reflect on your personal growth, wherever you are in your journey. Pat yourself on the back. Do a happy dance. And keep slayinngggg right into 2018!!!! Love and light and Happy New Year!
