Season's Greetings to you! This time of year is definitely about decorations and making everything festive! Oh yaaaay! So I decided to add some holiday cheer to a really beautiful style. 'Tis the season for Bantu knots! I love seeing this style! I got inspired to add beads to the mix to show that I've been doing a little decorating of my own. See this 3-in-1 style below:
I first twist each section to create the Bantu knot. Then I fasten the Bantu knot with a bobby pin. I found gold beads (from your local beauty supply or craft section of Walmart or Michaels) and inserted one end of a bobby pin into the bead hole. Then I double fasten the Bantu knot with the bead/bobby pin combo.
This style was fun to try! I let the Bantu knots sit overnight. Then I take down the back half by unfastening the bobby pins and Bantu knots. I fluff out the hair that was taken down and keep the front as is.
For the final style, I take down all of the Bantu knots. Then, I pin the hair on the side with a bobby pin. I use the same bobby pin/bead combo to pin a row, similar to a hair clip.
In summary, Bantu knots and beads were a lot of fun! I enjoyed playing in the beads; it brought back many memories of wearing them all over my head in braids as a child. Good times.
